Reflections on large group drawing:
- geometric shapes
- grey (ink mixed with white acrylic) line stands out most as it's a different tone to the rest of the piece
- arrows - advertising, logo, direction, pathways, journey
- no focus point, can't stay looking at one point as your eye gets taken elsewhere
Critique
What have we learnt:
- how to manipulate different materials
- terminology of mark making
- take risks and don't be afraid of ruining something
- analysis of space
- no right or wrong
- how to critique abstract pieces
- thinking about decisions made when drawing
Comments on our drawing:
- urban
- graffiti
- contrast between structure and abstract
- recognizable shapes
- subtle textures which are entertaining for the eye
- geometric
- journey
- road sign
- discussions over which arrow is dominant
- darker/lighter side
- need to bring line in front of arrow as it's slightly lighter - layering doesn't make sense
